Empower. Embrace. Evolve.

The Black History Passport is a collaborative educational and community initiative dedicated to showcasing the rich Black history of Henrico County’s Varina District.
Founded in 1634 as one of Virginia’s original eight shires, Henrico County holds over 400 years of history — from early English settlement at Henricus Historical Park to the cultural legacy of generations who shaped Route 5.
This beautifully designed keepsake passport invites residents, students, and visitors to explore historic sites, honor trailblazers, and connect with a heritage that continues to inspire. From early colonial settlement to modern educational innovation, Route 5 tells the evolving story of leadership, resilience, and community.
The 2026 Black History Passport is presently in development and will be officially released in May 2026.
